Introduction

 Imam Relief Foundation is one of the first institutions that was established shortly after the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran on March 5, 1979 by the late leader of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini, with the aim of organizing and dealing with the livelihood of the deprived and the needy in the country. 

after victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, solving the many economic, cultural and social problems of the deprived classes of the society and predicting the programs needed to empower and meet their needs was specifically brought to the attention of the statesmen in such a way that the need to support the needy and deprived people in the society was at the top of the programs of the newly established system of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and 22 days after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the Imam Relief Foundation was established by a decree issued by Imam Khomeini for an unlimited period in order to support and deal with the underprivileged and poor and making them self-sufficient.

The beginning and continuation of the activities of the Imam Relief Foundation focused on providing relief and support to individuals and families in need, respecting their human dignity and self-esteem, providing targeted support to them, and promoting the culture of work among the covered individuals and families, trying to prevent the systematic production of poverty in the country, helping to improve the business environment and sustainable employment of the needy classes, providing social and support services to empower the needy including the development of social insurance coverage, providing comprehensive medical insurance and the quantitative and qualitative improvement of basic support services including housing, education and living conditions of the needy, the promotion of the culture of charity and sacrifice, and the dissemination of good Islamic traditions, and finally, continuous efforts to popularize the activities related to  material and spiritual support to the deprived people.

In the early days, the administration of the Imam Relief Foundation was in the form of a council, and one person was in charge of the executive affairs of this institution. On June 10, 1987, after about 10 years of the activity of this revolutionary institution, the first Constitution of the Imam Relief Foundation was established in order to create appropriate organizations and better planning and execution of matters and was signed by the great founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini, and became the forefront for activities of the aid workers of this organization.
